Monsterboard - #Gavoorbeter magazine

Building new relationships

Background

Monsterboard is the premier career destination in The Netherlands. Both passive and active jobseekers visit Monsterboard on a regular basis. However, research among the target audience shows that 49% of the Dutch workforce is open for a new job, but afraid to change jobs due to the economic climate.

It’s time to encourage people to make the most of their career. We wanted to connect with the theme ‘Aspire for more’.

Why we did it

We wanted to reach out to our audience, engaging them in an inspiring and positive way. We aim to build a long-term relationship, by using a recurring voice. In order to reach out to a large audience on a regular basis, a durable mechanism was needed. Our target demographics consists of two groups: unemployed active jobseekers and passive jobseeksers, interested in getting the most out of their career.

We wanted to reach out to our audience, engaging them in an inspiring and positive way.

The idea

Key to success is creating both inspiring and relevant content, combined with an excellent user experience and high readability. We developed an e-magazine which connects with our audience on a regular basis. We came up with a visually stunning, full screen immersive, and crisp magazine that looks great on every possible device.

Articles range from practical tips from industry leaders, facts and figures and interviews with the average Joe the Plumber. Conversation with the audience is sparked by giving them the opportunity to submit questions and subjects for the next issue, and a contest where they can win their very own career wish, e.g. “I want to work at my company’s New York HQ for a year.”

Mobile and tablet visitors outnumber traditional desktop visitors

Creating a full responsive magazine that’s compatible with every possible device turned out to be a good choice, since the mobile and tablet visitors outnumber the traditional desktop visitors: 53% to 47%.
